Twilight seems to be one of those series that people either love or hate. I just read the first Anita Blake novel and the graphic novel, Guilty Pleasures. I liked them both. Not crazy about the typical comic art in the GN, but the story was adapted very well. Laurell K. Hamilton was at Dragon*Con and I would have loved to talk to her, but I was so busy at my table that I never got away. I’m going to read the first True Blood novel, Dead Until Dark, next.
I love twilight, but it’s pretty much centered towards teenage girls so… yeah….
I have been a fan of vampires and vampire fiction for a very long time. Studied it, read it, obsessed over it. I have watched some really bad vampire movies (Vampiros Lesbos) in my time and read some excreble books.
But even still, I have to say that Twilight is an abomination and should be consigned to the pits of Hell.
Not only is the story cliched and hackney, but the writing alone is so bad I have seen better from my grade 8 students. (Did I mention I was also an English teacher). I watched the film (getting slightly drunk first. I had been warned it was the only way) and the actors sleep walked their way through it.
If you want good vampire fiction, go back to Dracula, to Coleridge and Polidori. Find out what it’s really about.
Comic-wise, I am really enjoying it. I like the references back to history (oh yeah, History teacher too) and it looks like you’ve done your research. Reading through the archives at the moment. Liking what I’ve seen so far.
Who is with who?geez, I hate fan service -.-
but I love lesbian comics so I need to continue reading u.u
