somehow, i don´t think alex is all that happy with his promise….he really could have phrased it a bit better. oh well, at least he´s honest 😉 btw, kudos for alex subtly trying to clean her hand after shaking his, priceless!
however, i think its remarkable that he didn´t even react to laila´s previous statement – then i´ll kill him – either those two are very good friends or he knows (and fears!) her very well.either way, its interesting!
I read Alex as full of machismo but knows which side his bread is buttered on. I say he has known Laila long enough to know how to stay on her good side. Knows the rules and so knows that one misstep by the new kid could get make this fight for dominance a short one. My guess is Alex is being so nonchalant because he thinks he can get Laila involved if the newbie can be goaded into breaking the rules. If Laila has a weakness, it is the lives of humans.
