In Mesopotamian mythology, Lamashtu (Akkadian dLa-maš-tu; Sumerian Dimme dDim3-me) was a female demon, monster, malevolent goddess or demigoddess. Lamashtu's father was the Sky God Anu (Sumer An). Lamashtu was the first vampire.
